This is a behind-the-scenes look at my June 2018 studio workshop using fluorescent body paints and UV (Black Light) lighting. The models for this workshop were Sass Kia and Bernie with the amazing body painting done by Jessalee Hair and Makeup Artistry.
The beginning of the BTS video shows a timelapse of Jessalee applying the body paint on Bernie and then continues on with some general footage shot during the workshop.
The lighting used was a couple of Beamz UV LED Light Bars. This brand, or something very similar, can be found in most stage lighting / hire stores around Australia. The output from these lights is quite dim when compared to general LED lights so there is definitely a need to push the cameras ISO setting as well as shoot with a fairly wide open aperture to get as much light in the lens as possible.
I shot most of these images at 1600 ISO on the Fuji X-H1 (using IBIS) and the Fuji XF56mm f1.2R using a shutter speed of 1/60th and apertures between f1.8 and f2.8.
