Portrait Skin Smoothing with Lightroom Classic

I came across this technique on YouTube recently and thought it was so good I had to try it out for myself and share it with you all. For this technique to work, you will need the latest version of Adobe Lightroom Classic (8.3 Release) which has introduced the texture slider to the Develop Module.

This technique is great for getting your images to a level where they are good enough to share with the client as “Proof Ready” files without having to go into Photoshop for any full on skin retouching. Although, depending on the person’s skin and the lighting used, this level of skin smoothing might be all that is required for the final edits.

The video below should be fairly simple to follow along with as it’s not a very complicated technique but if you do have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
